Kim Witten Course Project Part I Task 1 1. National First (Prime rate is 3.25%) +6.75% = 10% Semiannually EAR = (1+.10/2) ^2 – 1 which is 10.25 Regions Best Rate is 13.17% Monthly EAR = (1+.1317/12) ^12 – 1 which is 13.99 2. I think that between National First and Regions Best that National first offers the lower rate after computing the EAR. National first is also only compounded semiannually making it lower then Regions Best. The only thing I worry about it the prime rate changing because if it rises a lot then it could possibly become a higher interest rate them Regions best. Scripture Reading ( Genesis 39 1-23 ) - 1889 Words

Scripture Reading (Genesis 39:1-23) Introduction (Genesis 39:1): One day, there was a small boy at a school on a day that everything seemed to go wrong. First, he skinned his knee at gym. At lunch, he fell and busted his lip. Then during recess, he suffered a broken arm. On the way home from the hospital, his father noticed the little boy clutching something in his hand. His father asked him what he had. The boy replied, â€Å"Boy, this is my lucky day. I found a quarter on the playground.† Joseph had also gone through a traumatic time in his life. In Genesis 37, it tells us that Joseph was sold to Midianite merchants by his brothers. Not only were they jealous of how much their father loved him, but Joseph was irritating them by†¦show more content†¦Joseph trusted God to handle the difficult situations in his life. He didn’t complain or fuss. He stayed quiet and showed how strong he really was. And he wasn’t strong in his own strength, but in God’s. He became a hero because he knew what to run away from and who to run to – and that was God. His testimony of God’s work in his life was personal, powerful and prosperous. Point 1: Personal Testimony (Genesis 39:2-6a): Joseph was sold to Potiphar, who was the captain of the palace guard for Pharoah. He was no longer living in the land of his father, but in Egypt. This was a land where the Egyptians worshiped many gods. As far as we know, Joseph could have been the only believer in the land of Egypt! But the Lord was with Joseph. Genesis 39:2-3 tells us this and goes on to say that when his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD gave him success in everything he did, Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Joseph was given charge of everything in the house and the field. Verse 6 even tells us that Potiphar wasn’t concerned with anything, except for the food that he ate. Insider Trading Essay Free Essays

Watching â€Å"Martha, Inc. : The Story of Martha Stewart† finally made me realize what the whole scandal of Martha Stewart was all about. From what I learned, Martha Stewart, known as a television personality and famous multimillionaire, was â€Å"indicted on securities fraud, obstruction of justice and conspiracy charges in an insider trading scandal†. We will write a custom essay sample on Insider Trading Essay or any similar topic only for you Order Now Before this all started, she was happily baking cookies for children and making homemade arts and crafts for her friends. At the middle of 2003, she was sent for a five month term of prison. Insider trading was the crime Martha Stewart committed; she basically wanted to get ahead as CEO of her company. By definition, insider training is â€Å"the illegal practice of trading on the stock exchange to one’s advantage through having access to confidential information†. â€Å"Insider trading† is a term that most investors would usually associate with illegal conduct. Illegal insider trading â€Å"refers to buying or selling a security while in possession of nonpublic information about the security†. Apparently, based on articles I have read, Martha Stewart was told by her friend Sam Waksal that his company ImClone’s cancer drug had been rejected by the Food and Drug Administration before this information was made public. Because of this, the price of his company’s stock diminished quickly. â€Å"The (Securities and Exchange Commission) SEC’s job is to make sure that all investors are making decisions based on the same information. Insider trading can be illegal because it destroys this level playing field. Insider trading is only illegal when a person bases their trade of stocks in a public company on information that the public does not know. † Clearly, Martha Stewart was a huge symbol of corporate greed. She wanted more money even when she had reached one billion dollars as her net worth. Stewart had lost about $400 million â€Å"because of the company’s declining value, legal fees and lost business opportunities†. To make a comeback, she made a camp again in 2005 which led to profits a year later. Stewart then rejoined the board of directors and became chairman of her namesake company again this year. She hasn’t reached her full potential from before but is still catching up to it. (Sentences in quotes are from several Internet sources.
